Sacrifice Redraft Constitution

Sacrifice Redraft Constitution

Full governing document for the VBP Progressive PPR redraft format with 6-point passing touchdowns where each team's top weekly starter must be sacrificed.

Full Constitution

This document establishes the rules, structure, and operating procedures for Sacrifice Redraft within the VBP Fantasy Network.

Sacrifice Redraft uses the normal VBP Progressive PPR redraft foundation, with one major weekly twist: during Weeks 1-13, each team's highest-scoring starter must be dropped.

The format is designed to feel familiar on Sleeper while forcing weekly roster churn, waiver strategy, and difficult short-term decisions.

Team Ownership and Co-Owners

Single-Manager Policy: Each paid team or entry must be controlled by one registered primary manager. Co-owners, co-managers, shared teams, and shared control of an entry are not permitted.

A manager may receive informal advice from others, but no other person may draft, submit picks, set lineups, make waiver claims, propose or accept trades, manage a roster, or otherwise act in the league on that manager's behalf.

Reason for the Rule: Sleeper may provide management access to additional users, but VBP league membership, trade review, rule enforcement, and commissioner accountability must remain tied to one identifiable manager.

If shared control or co-owner access is discovered, the commissioner may require its immediate removal, recognize only the primary registered manager for all league purposes, restrict or review affected activity, or replace the entry if the violation continues.

1. League Format

  • League Size: 12 teams
  • Platform: Sleeper
  • League Type: Seasonal redraft
  • Divisions: None, unless otherwise announced before registration opens

Each team plays one scheduled head-to-head matchup per week.

The league uses normal redraft roster management except for the weekly Sacrifice Rule described in this constitution.

2. Season Structure

Regular Season: Weeks 1-14.

Sacrifice Weeks: Weeks 1-13 only.

No Week 14 Sacrifice: Week 14 is the final regular-season week and does not trigger a sacrifice.

Playoffs: Six teams qualify, and the top two seeds receive a first-round bye.

Playoff Schedule:

  • Week 15 - Quarterfinals
  • Week 16 - Semifinals
  • Week 17 - Championship

Trade Deadline: The trade deadline occurs at the end of Week 11, and no trades may be completed after this deadline.

3. Rosters

Starting Lineup:

  • 1 QB
  • 2 RB
  • 2 WR
  • 1 TE
  • 2 FLEX (RB / WR / TE)

Bench: 6 bench spots.

Injured Reserve: 1 IR slot. Players may only be placed in IR when they carry an eligible injury designation on Sleeper.

Positions Not Used:

  • Kickers
  • Team Defense / Special Teams
  • Superflex

4. Scoring

Sacrifice Redraft uses the VBP Progressive PPR scoring model.

PositionReception Points
RB0.5
WR0.25
TE0.75

Passing Touchdowns: 6 points.

All other scoring categories follow standard Sleeper scoring settings.

There are no yardage bonuses or big-play bonuses.

Tight Ends receive no scoring premium beyond the Progressive PPR values listed above.

5. Sacrifice Rule

During Weeks 1-13, each team's highest-scoring starter for the completed week becomes that team's Sacrifice Player.

The Sacrifice Player must be dropped. Bench players do not trigger the Sacrifice Rule.

Other teams may claim or add a sacrificed player immediately through normal Sleeper waivers or free agency.

The original manager may not re-add their own sacrificed player until the following NFL week has been completed. In shorthand, a Week X sacrifice cannot be re-added by the original manager until Week X+2 at the earliest.

Example: If a manager sacrifices a player after Week 1, that manager cannot add that player back during Week 2. If the player is available after Week 2 is complete, the original manager may add the player for Week 3 at the earliest.

The same pattern applies all season. A Week 7 sacrifice is unavailable to the original manager through Week 8 and may be re-added by that manager for Week 9 at the earliest.

6. Weekly Sacrifice Process

Managers are expected to review their own starting lineup after weekly games complete and drop their likely Sacrifice Player as soon as possible.

The commissioner will post the official sacrifice list on Tuesdays.

If a manager has not dropped the correct Sacrifice Player by the time the official list is posted, that manager must drop the player before the next waiver run.

If a manager refuses to drop the Sacrifice Player, the commissioner may manually remove the player from that roster.

Stat-correction concerns are only reviewed closely when two players are extremely close at the top of a team's sacrifice block. Otherwise, the Tuesday sacrifice list governs the weekly drop requirement.

If two starting players remain tied after Sleeper decimal scoring is considered, the commissioner may use a clearly posted tiebreaker or randomizer to identify the Sacrifice Player.

7. Waivers

System: Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB).

Budget: $200 per team.

Minimum Bid: There is no minimum bid requirement, and managers may submit $0 bids.

Waivers follow Sleeper's default weekly waiver processing schedule.

Sacrificed players enter the normal waiver and free-agent flow. There is no special commissioner redistribution of sacrificed players.

The only restriction is that the original manager may not re-add their own sacrificed player until the lockout period has ended.

8. Trades

Trades are permitted until the trade deadline.

Trades may only be vetoed by the commissioner.

A veto will only occur if there is clear evidence of collusion, abuse of the league system, or an attempt to evade the Sacrifice Rule.

Trades will not be vetoed due to perceived imbalance or manager strategy.

A manager may not use a trade to reacquire their own sacrificed player before the sacrifice lockout period has ended.

9. Playoff Handling

Sacrifice applies Weeks 1-13 only.

No sacrifice is triggered after Week 14, the final regular-season week.

No sacrifice occurs during the fantasy playoffs.

Week 14 determines final playoff seeding without forcing a drop that carries into Week 15.

Playoff rounds are decided by the rosters managers have built through the regular-season sacrifice cycle.

10. Draft Rules

Draft Platform

Drafts are conducted on Sleeper.

Draft Order

Draft order will be generated using 100yardrush.com after the league is full and paid.

The results from the generator determine the official draft positions, and the commissioner will post the results publicly for transparency.

Draft Format

Snake draft.

Draft Timing

Drafts will be scheduled after the conclusion of the NFL Draft.

Draft Speed

Each Sacrifice Redraft league will be identified as a fast or slow draft before registration opens.

Standard fast drafts use 90-second pick timers.

Slow drafts that begin before July 15 use 8-hour timers.

Slow drafts that begin on or after July 15 and before August 15 use 4-hour timers.

Slow drafts that begin on or after August 15 and before one week prior to the start of the NFL regular season use 2-hour timers.

Slow drafts that begin during the final week before the NFL regular season use 1-hour timers.

Slow drafts use an overnight pause from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM CST unless the league agrees to a different pause window before the draft begins.

Managers are encouraged to notify the next manager after making their pick to help maintain draft flow.

11. Competitive Integrity

Managers are expected to set a complete and competitive lineup each week prior to games beginning.

Intentionally leaving starting roster positions empty or starting known inactive players without reasonable cause is prohibited.

Managers are expected to comply with the Sacrifice Rule in good faith.

Deliberately manipulating lineups, drops, adds, or trades to evade a required sacrifice may result in commissioner intervention, roster correction, or removal from the league.

Failure to Set a Lineup:

  • First offense: warning issued by the commissioner.
  • Second offense: removal from the league.

Vacant Team Management: If a replacement manager is not available, the team will remain vacant. The commissioner will set weekly lineups before Wednesday night games begin using the highest projected point total according to Sleeper projections and only players currently on the roster.

12. Entry & Prize Pool

Sacrifice Redraft 1: Free entry.

Sacrifice Redraft 1 is a test league intended to evaluate the format, weekly sacrifice process, manager experience, and commissioner workload.

There is no LeagueSafe payment requirement and no cash prize pool for Sacrifice Redraft 1.

Managers are still expected to participate for the full season and follow all sacrifice, lineup, waiver, and competitive-integrity rules.

13. Future Paid Leagues

Future Sacrifice Redraft leagues may use a paid entry after the initial free test is complete.

Any future buy-in, LeagueSafe payment requirement, and payout table must be published before registration opens.

No manager joining Sacrifice Redraft 1 will be charged retroactively.

14. Rule Changes

Major rule changes may only occur before the league year begins.

Any change affecting league structure, scoring, roster construction, playoff format, sacrifice mechanics, or prize distribution requires clear commissioner notice before registration is finalized.

The league year officially begins once the draft order has been generated using 100yardrush.com.

After this point, rules remain locked until the following offseason unless an administrative correction is needed to resolve an obvious error.

15. Commissioner Administrative Authority

The commissioner may make minor administrative adjustments when necessary to ensure the league operates smoothly.

Examples include:

  • Clarifying written rules
  • Correcting errors or omissions in the constitution
  • Posting and correcting weekly sacrifice lists
  • Enforcing sacrifice lockout periods
  • Adjusting communication procedures

Administrative adjustments will be communicated to the league prior to implementation whenever practical.

Administrative adjustments may not alter core league structure after the league year begins.
