1. League Overview

The VBP Football Bracket League is a large-scale fantasy football tournament consisting of 60 total teams.

Teams are divided into five separate 12-team divisions, each operating as its own redraft league during the regular season. At the conclusion of the regular season, qualifying teams advance to a 32-team single-elimination playoff tournament.

  • League Format: Redraft
  • Platform: Sleeper
  • Communication Platforms: Discord and Sleeper

Expansion of the league structure may occur in future seasons if participation interest increases.

2. Quick League Summary

The VBP Football Bracket League is a 60-team fantasy football tournament made up of five separate 12-team divisions. Each division operates independently during the regular season before qualifying teams advance to a 32-team single-elimination playoff bracket.

The Regular Season runs Weeks 1-12, with the playoff tournament running Weeks 13-17.

Progressive PPR scoring is used to balance positional value across RB, WR, and TE.

The top teams across all divisions qualify for the playoff bracket. Seeds 31 and 32 compete in a Week 13 Wild Card Play-In, with the winner advancing to the Round of 16.

Managers are expected to set competitive lineups each week. Failure to maintain lineup integrity may result in warnings or removal from the league.

Prize payouts scale based on the league buy-in, with division winners, playoff teams, and the champion receiving payouts.

Managers should review the sections below for full rules regarding rosters, playoffs, transactions, and league governance.

3. League Structure

The league consists of five independent 12-team divisions.

Each division functions as its own league during the regular season for the purposes of:

  • Drafts
  • Weekly matchups
  • Standings

At the conclusion of the regular season, the highest-performing teams across all divisions advance to the overall playoff bracket.

Division names will be established prior to league registration.

4. Scoring Format

The league uses a Progressive PPR scoring model designed to balance positional value.

  • Running Backs (RB): 0.5 PPR
  • Wide Receivers (WR): 0.25 PPR
  • Tight Ends (TE): 0.75 PPR

All other scoring categories follow standard Sleeper scoring settings unless otherwise specified.

5. Schedule

Regular Season: Weeks 1-12

Playoffs: Weeks 13-17

Each division completes a 12-week regular season schedule before qualifying teams advance to the tournament bracket.

The league championship is played during Week 17.

Week 18 will not be used for playoff matchups.

6. Rosters and Lineups

Roster Size: 15 players

Starting Lineup

1 QB

2 RB

3 WR

1 TE

1 FLEX (RB / WR / TE)

1 DEF

Bench: 6 players

IR Slots: 2

Players may only be placed in IR when they carry an eligible injury designation on Sleeper.

Lineups must be submitted before the kickoff of each player's NFL game.

7. Playoff Qualification and Seeding

At the conclusion of the regular season, 32 teams qualify for the playoff tournament.

Seeds 1-5

The five division winners receive the top five seeds based on regular season record and points scored.

Seeds 6-30

The next 25 teams are seeded based on regular season record and points scored across all divisions.

Seeds 31-32

The two highest-scoring teams that did not qualify through record receive Seeds 31 and 32.

Wild Card Play-In

Seeds 31 and 32 compete in a Wild Card Play-In matchup during Week 13.

Wild Card Integration

The Wild Card Play-In matchup occurs during Week 13.

While Seeds 1 through 30 compete in their Round 1 matchups, Seeds 31 and 32 compete in the Wild Card Play-In game.

Once Round 1 is completed, the winner of the Wild Card Play-In advances to the Round of 16 and faces the 8th highest remaining seed at that time.

This structure allows the highest-scoring non-qualifying teams an opportunity to enter the tournament while preserving the competitive advantage earned by higher-seeded teams.

Round 1 Matchups

Seeds 1 through 30 compete in Round 1 using reverse seeding.

Example format:

Seed 1 vs Seed 30

Seed 2 vs Seed 29

Seed 3 vs Seed 28

and so on.

Bracket Structure

After Round 1, the bracket will reseed once, ensuring the highest remaining seed faces the lowest remaining seed.

From Round 2 onward, the bracket becomes static, and matchups follow the established bracket structure without further reseeding.

Tiebreakers

Regular season ties are broken using the following order:

  • Total Points Scored
  • Max Points For (optimal lineup scoring)

These tiebreakers apply to all regular season rankings, including playoff qualification and seeding.

8. Trades and Free Agency

Trade Deadline: End of Week 11

Trades are subject to commissioner review to prevent collusion or abuse of the league system.

Trades will not be vetoed solely due to perceived imbalance.

Free Agency

Free agency operates using a FAAB system.

Each team receives $200 FAAB for the entire season.

Unused FAAB does not carry over between seasons.

9. Prize Structure

Each season's league buy-in amount will be announced prior to league registration.

All prize payouts are calculated relative to the buy-in amount for that season.

All funds are collected and held through LeagueSafe.

LeagueSafe payouts require majority league approval.

No refunds will be issued once the draft has begun unless a platform failure or administrative issue prevents the league from operating.

Division Winner Bonus

Each division winner receives a payout equal to two times the league buy-in amount.

Tournament Payouts

  • Champion
  • Receives the remaining prize pool after all other payouts are distributed.
  • Runner-Up
  • Receives ten times the league buy-in amount.
  • Semifinalists
  • Each semifinalist receives four times the league buy-in amount.

Quarterfinalists

Quarterfinalists receive a payout equal to the league buy-in amount plus an additional $5.

The additional $5 helps offset LeagueSafe withdrawal processing fees so that quarterfinalists effectively receive their full buy-in amount back.

10. Draft Structure

Each division will be designated as either a Fast Draft Division or Slow Draft Division prior to league registration.

Managers will know the draft format of their division before joining.

Fast Drafts

Fast drafts are conducted on Sleeper with a 2-minute timer per pick.

Managers within each division will attempt to agree on a draft date and time.

If a division cannot reach agreement before the end of the NFL preseason, the commissioner will assign a draft time between the end of preseason and the start of the regular season.

Slow Drafts

Slow drafts use a 4-hour pick timer.

Overnight pauses run from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM CST.

Managers are encouraged to notify the next manager after making their pick to help maintain draft flow.

If a slow draft division fails to establish a draft start time before the end of preseason, the commissioner will schedule the draft.

11. Lineup Integrity and Participation

Managers are expected to set a competitive lineup each week.

Examples of non-competitive lineups include:

  • Leaving starting lineup positions empty
  • Starting players listed as OUT or IR when viable alternatives exist
  • Repeated failure to adjust bye weeks

Because the league contains 60 teams across multiple divisions, managers are encouraged to report inactive or non-competitive lineups through Discord or Sleeper league chat.

Participant reporting helps maintain competitive integrity across the league.

Strike System

  • Strike 1
  • Formal warning issued by the commissioner.
  • Strike 2
  • Removal from the league.

Removed Managers

If a manager is removed for inactivity, rule violations, or any other reason:

  • The roster remains intact.
  • No trades or waiver transactions will be processed for that team.
  • Lineups may be set using the highest projected players to maintain competitive balance.
  • A replacement manager may be appointed if one becomes available.

12. Transaction Lock for Eliminated Teams

Beginning Week 13, teams that do not qualify for the playoff bracket will have all roster transactions locked.

Locked teams may not:

  • Add or drop players
  • Submit waiver claims
  • Participate in trades

This ensures playoff teams have fair access to remaining free agents during the tournament.

13. League Communication

League updates, announcements, rule clarifications, and administrative notices may be communicated through the league's Discord server and the Sleeper league chats for each division.

Important league information will typically be shared in both locations whenever possible.

Managers are responsible for monitoring their division's Sleeper league chat for official updates and announcements.

Failure to review league communications will not be grounds for special accommodations or rule exceptions.

14. Commissioner Authority

The commissioner is responsible for:

  • League setup and scheduling
  • Rule enforcement
  • Trade oversight
  • Conflict resolution
  • Coordinating LeagueSafe payouts

Sleeper stat corrections and scoring updates are considered final and will not be manually overridden.

15. League Conduct

Managers are expected to behave respectfully in all league communication channels.

Harassment, abusive behavior, or actions that undermine league integrity may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the league.

16. Amendments

The commissioner may propose rule amendments during the offseason.

Any rule change must receive majority approval from active league participants before taking effect in the following season.
