Team Ownership and Co-Owners

Single-Manager Policy: Each paid team or entry must be controlled by one registered primary manager. Co-owners, co-managers, shared teams, and shared control of an entry are not permitted.

A manager may receive informal advice from others, but no other person may draft, submit picks, set lineups, make waiver claims, propose or accept trades, manage a roster, or otherwise act in the league on that manager's behalf.

Reason for the Rule: Sleeper may provide management access to additional users, but VBP league membership, LeagueSafe payments, refunds, payouts, future-season obligations, trade review, and commissioner accountability must remain tied to one identifiable manager. One manager per entry creates a clear record for disputes, replacement decisions, competitive-integrity review, and prize distribution.

If shared control or co-owner access is discovered, the commissioner may require its immediate removal, recognize only the primary registered manager for all league purposes, restrict or review affected activity, or replace the entry if the violation continues. The primary manager remains responsible for all activity involving that team or entry.

Each team plays one scheduled head-to-head matchup and one extra game against the league median each week. Both results count separately in the standings.

The season runs from Week 1 through Week 17. Week 18 is not used.

2. Quick Summary

VBP Best Ball Gauntlet is a 24-team doubleheader best ball league with five-player micro rosters.

Managers draft five total players, then Sleeper automatically scores the best eligible lineup each week using one Superflex and three Flex spots.

Every team plays one scheduled matchup and one league median game each week, creating possible weekly records of 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2.

There are no waivers, no free agency, no trades, no IR spots, and no playoffs. The Week 17 standings champion wins $110, and the highest full-season points scorer wins $10.

3. Season Structure

The league season runs from NFL Week 1 through NFL Week 17.

Each team plays one scheduled head-to-head matchup each week and one extra game against the league median score. Both results count separately in the standings.

Each team can finish a week with one of the following weekly records:

  • 2-0
  • 1-1
  • 0-2

Each team records 34 total standings results across the season.

There are no playoffs. Week 18 is not used for scoring, standings, tiebreakers, or payouts.

4. Roster Format

Each team has five total roster spots.

Starting Lineup:

  • 1 Superflex - QB / RB / WR / TE
  • 3 Flex - RB / WR / TE

Bench: 1 bench spot.

There are no required QB, RB, WR, or TE-only starting slots beyond the Superflex and Flex structure.

Positions Used:

  • QB
  • RB
  • WR
  • TE

Positions Not Used:

  • Kickers
  • Team Defense / Special Teams
  • Individual Defensive Players

5. Scoring

VBP Best Ball Gauntlet uses the VBP Fantasy Network Progressive PPR scoring model.

Reception Scoring:

  • RB receptions: 0.5 points
  • WR receptions: 0.25 points
  • TE receptions: 0.75 points

All other scoring settings follow standard Sleeper scoring unless otherwise announced before the draft.

No yardage bonuses are used. No big-play bonuses are used. No additional tight end premium is used beyond the Progressive PPR scoring listed above.

Sleeper scoring and stat corrections are final and binding.

6. Best Ball Rules

Managers do not set weekly lineups.

Sleeper automatically selects each team's highest-scoring eligible lineup each week based on the required lineup structure:

  • 1 Superflex
  • 3 Flex

The unused player remains on the bench for scoring purposes.

Injuries, bye weeks, suspensions, role changes, and depth chart movement are part of the format and must be accounted for during the draft.

7. Draft Format

The draft is conducted on Sleeper as a slow draft.

Because VBP Best Ball Gauntlet is a 24-team league, coordinating one live draft time that works for every manager is not practical. A slow draft will be utilized so managers can make picks fairly without requiring all 24 teams to be online at the same time.

The draft is five rounds. Each team drafts five total players.

Slow Draft Timer Before July 15: 8-hour pick timer.

Slow Draft Timer July 15 to Before August 15: 4-hour pick timer.

Slow Draft Timer August 15 to One Week Before the NFL Season: 2-hour pick timer.

Slow Draft Timer Final Week Before the NFL Season: 1-hour pick timer.

Slow Draft Overnight Pause: Slow drafts use an overnight pause from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM CST unless the league agrees to a different pause window before the draft begins.

The draft uses a snake draft with Third Round Reversal.

Draft Flow:

  • Round 1: Pick 1 through Pick 24
  • Round 2: Pick 24 through Pick 1
  • Round 3: Pick 24 through Pick 1
  • Round 4: Pick 1 through Pick 24
  • Round 5: Pick 24 through Pick 1

Managers are encouraged to notify the next manager after making their pick to help maintain draft flow.

If the slow draft needs commissioner scheduling support, the commissioner will schedule or adjust the draft start time before the regular season begins.

Third Round Reversal is used to reduce the structural advantage of early draft slots in a 24-team Superflex best ball format.

Draft Order: Draft order is generated using 100yardrush.com once the league is full and paid.

The generated draft order is final once posted by the commissioner.

8. Waivers, Free Agency, and Trades

VBP Best Ball Gauntlet is a draft-only league.

After the draft is complete, rosters are locked unless commissioner action is required to correct a platform issue or administrative error.

  • No waivers
  • No free agency
  • No adds
  • No drops
  • No trades
  • No IR spots

9. Champion and Payout

The league champion is the team with the best overall record at the conclusion of Week 17.

The best possible record is 34-0.

If teams are tied in overall record, Points For is the first tiebreaker.

The first-place team receives $110.

The team with the highest full-season points total from Week 1 through Week 17 receives $10. If two or more teams tie for the highest full-season points total, the $10 high-score prize is split evenly among the tied teams.

Any LeagueSafe withdrawal fees are the responsibility of each winning manager unless otherwise stated.

10. Tiebreakers

Because Sleeper scores to the second decimal place, ties are expected to be rare.

If two or more teams are tied in overall record at the conclusion of Week 17, tiebreakers apply in this order:

  1. Total Points For
  2. Head-to-head record among tied teams, if applicable and clearly available in Sleeper
  3. Highest single-week score during the season
  4. Second-highest single-week score during the season
  5. Third-highest single-week score during the season
  6. Most weekly top-5 finishes
  7. Most weekly top-10 finishes
  8. Commissioner randomizer or coin flip

The commissioner should use Sleeper records and scoring history to verify tiebreakers.

11. Competitive Integrity

Managers are expected to draft and participate in good faith.

Because this is a draft-only best ball league, managers are not required to set lineups or make roster moves after the draft.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Collusion
  • Coordinated drafting to benefit another manager
  • Roster manipulation
  • Attempting to exploit platform settings
  • Abuse of the league system
  • Any action that undermines fair competition

The commissioner may intervene if there is clear evidence of collusion, abuse, or platform manipulation.

12. Replacement Managers

If a manager leaves before the draft, the commissioner may replace the manager.

If a manager leaves after the draft, the team may remain active because no weekly management is required.

The team will continue accumulating best ball scores automatically through Sleeper.

13. Rule Changes

Major rule changes may only occur before the draft.

Once the draft begins, the following are locked:

  • League size
  • Roster structure
  • Scoring
  • Draft format
  • Schedule
  • Payout structure
  • Waiver rules
  • Trade rules
  • Champion determination

No rule changes may occur after the draft begins unless needed to correct a clear administrative or platform issue.

14. Commissioner Authority

The commissioner may make minor administrative adjustments to ensure the league operates properly.

Examples include:

  • Clarifying written rules
  • Correcting errors or omissions
  • Resolving Sleeper setup issues
  • Adjusting communication procedures
  • Confirming standings and payouts
  • Handling stat correction issues

Administrative authority may not be used to change the core league format after the draft begins.

15. Recruiting Summary

VBP Best Ball Gauntlet is a $5, 24-team doubleheader micro best ball league on Sleeper.

Each team drafts only five players, starts 1 Superflex and 3 Flex through automatic best ball scoring, and plays one scheduled matchup plus one league median game each week from Week 1 through Week 17.

This is a head-to-head standings race, not a pure total-points contest. There are no waivers, no trades, no IR spots, no playoffs, and Week 18 is not used.

The best overall record after Week 17 wins $110. Points For is the first standings tiebreaker. The highest full-season points total during Weeks 1-17 wins $10.
